Reconnections:

Forging links between Hahn-inspired schools and programs

The goal of Reconnections is to establish an international communications network for resource sharing and joint initiatives between Hahn-inspired schools and programs. Reconnections seeks to share resources, increase awareness of our shared heritage, and provide information about conferences, job opportunities and innovative programs.

If you would like to share information or resources, please contact Sarah Wiley, Reconnections 2003 Conference coordinator at wileys@sts.ab.ca If you are interested in getting involved with any of the organizations, contact them directly by going to their international Web sites.

Below are links to information and resources from the four groups of Hahn-inspired schools and programs.

Origins of Reconnections:

In the summer of 2003, the four Kurt Hahn inspired organizations, Outward Bound, Round Square, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and the United World Colleges came together for the first time to celebrate their shared roots and educational philosophy. The goal of this conference, Reconnections and New Directions (link to conference summary), was to celebrate shared roots, create global and local networks, and inspire shared initiatives that would strengthen each organization’s mandate.

By providing a globally accessible gathering place of information and ideas, Reconnections aims to maintain historical connections and inspire new initiatives, partnerships and opportunities among Hahn-inspired schools.
